about

We give Christian scholars a way to raise funds to support their research, writing, and public engagement for the sake of the church and the academy.

What?

The Christian Scholars Research Network provides a way for Christian scholars to raise and use tax-deductible donations to support their research, writing, and public engagement; and a network of like-minded scholars who desire to contribute to the academy and foster the life of the mind at churches. We are a fiscally sponsored project of the New Horizons Foundation, a 501c3 tax-exempt charity. All donations receive a tax-deductible gift receipt from the New Horizons Foundation (EIN 84-1123082).

Why?

The budgets for research and writing at many universities continue to shrink, and teaching loads and administrative duties for professors continue to grow. Without additional financial support, Christian academics’ important work will not be published, and their scholarship will neither be part of broader academic conversation nor available for the church.

Who?

The Christian Scholars Research Network is a network of Christian scholars who hold a PhD or equivalent in any academic field and would like to be able to raise financial support to help make their work available for the church and academy through research, publication, and public engagement.

It was founded in 2020 by Chris Stroup to cultivate and promote academic work by Christians for the church and the academy.
